New Great Park Neighborhood Task Force Approved!

At the May 24 Great Park Board meeting, Great Park residents finally won a years-long struggle for representation. By a unanimous vote, the Great Park Board voted to form a Great Park Task Force composed of residents from the Great Park Neighborhoods.

Councilmember Agran credited this positive action to the first steps he laid over a year ago:

“Over a year ago, I reminded my colleagues that ‘residents [of the Great Park] have requested that they be officially recognized as a Great Park Residents Advisory Committee, with the opportunity to be recognized and heard at Great Park Board meetings and related City Council meetings...’ I appreciate that it is on the agenda today and we are moving in a positive direction.”

The Great Park Task Force will consist of 15 appointees from the Great Park Neighborhoods, each City Councilmember appointing three representatives. Their work will be to meet with the City Manager’s Office over a four-month ad-hoc period. At the end, the City Manager will report recommendations to the Great Park Board.

Look for more information to come on the Task Force members and their projects!
