OCPL expands mobile library services to reach more seniors

The Orange County Public Library (OCPL) is expanding mobile library services to the Lakeview Senior Center and three Irvine senior living communities. Beginning in July, the OCPL Mobile Library will bring Public Library services directly to senior communities, focusing on seniors who do not drive and lack transportation to visit local libraries. A variety of library materials will be offered, including books in various languages, audio books, and tech devices, such as mobile hotspots and Chromebooks. The mobile library will be present in the Studio at Lakeview Senior Center on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The mobile library will also visit The Inn at Woodbridge, The Groves, and The Meadows senior living communities on a predetermined schedule shown below, commencing in July:

  • Inn at Woodbridge: Second/Fourth Tuesday from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

  • The Meadows: Second/Fourth Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • The Groves: Second/Fourth Saturday from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

The schedule is subject to change. For the most current information, contact the site you plan to visit directly.
